Group Opportunities
We offer a variety of group opportunities for clubs, local businesses and corporate groups! Help us create change in our Wake County community!
Food Pantry
Our food pantry serves an average of 100 families per day who are experiencing food insecurity in Wake County. Families and individuals can visit our pantry curbside and receive pantry staples, meat, dairy, produce, and other items while supplies last. During this volunteer experience, your group will assist with sorting and packing pantry staples, produce, meats, eggs, and more while also having the opportunity to serve our community during our service line.
- We accept groups up to 10 volunteers, but if a larger group is interested, we can reserve multiple mornings to allow everyone to serve!
- Volunteer Hours & Location: Monday – Thursday from 8:15AM-10:30AM at 1390 Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC 2760
- Food Drive (Optional): If your group would like to host a Food Drive in addition to serving, we would be happy to coordinate! This would double your groups' impact and support the families we serve!
Helen Wright Center for Women Dinner Server
Our Helen Wright Center for Women provides shelter and case management services to 73 women each day. To support the women we serve, we offer a donated dinner 7 days a week. This experience allows for your group to serve the donated dinner and build community with the women staying at the center.
- We accept groups up to 6 volunteers, but if a larger group is interested, we can reserve multiple evenings to allow everyone to serve!
- Volunteer Hours & Location: Monday – Sunday from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the Helen Wright Center for Women in Raleigh, NC. Address will be provided upon date reservation.
- Dinner Donation (Optional): If your group would like to donate a dinner in addition to serving, we would be happy to coordinate! This would double your groups' impact and support the women we serve!
Resource Drive
Our service programs are always in need of Care Kit items to offer additional resources to our community. This experience would allow your group to choose a Care Kit to support our community, collect the items needed for each kit, and pack them together. The Care Kits can be packed at your company/organization/club or you can host a packing party at our UMWC main campus!

Special Events
UMWC hosts various special events throughout the year, and we are always in need to volunteer groups to help! If you are interested in scheduling a group for our special events, please email Volunteer@urbanmin.org for more information!
