You can help Urban Ministries of Wake County end poverty in our community.  If we can help you promote your business in the process, it’s good for everyone.

Urban Ministries of Wake County hosts three events every year that engage the community, raise awareness of poverty and raise funds to provide the basics of life to our neighbors in need.  Sponsorship levels and related benefits vary between events, as detailed below.  Whichever event(s) you choose to support, you can be assured that Urban Ministries of Wake County will put your funding to excellent use and that we are interested in returning to you as much benefit from your sponsorship as possible, including recognition in print newsletters, online, through social media, on event signage and invitations, and through media outreach.

Spring Fling

April 12, 2018
Location TBD

Our annual Spring Fling borrows its theme from Urban Ministries’ emphasis on nutrition and healthy living to help people out of poverty toward stability and self-sufficiency.   Attendance in 2017 exceeded 270 and is growing each year.  Event patrons are leaders in government, business, and philanthropy in the Triangle.  In 2018 our Spring Fling will serve as a celebration of Urban Ministries in fighting poverty in Wake County.

Tour D' Coop

June 2, 2018
Wake County Backyards

Each spring, Urban Ministries of Wake County partners with the Tour D’Coop to offer this unique, fun and educational event.  Guests visit homes in Wake County that feature urban chicken coops, bee hives and beautiful gardens.  Thousands of healthy-lifestyle enthusiasts participate, raising awareness of the benefits of urban chicken keeping, bee keeping, biking and locally grown food.  Attendance in 2017 was in excess of 1,000 and is growing each year.

Stone Soup

November 15, 2017
McKimmon Center

Each November, Urban Ministries hosts a pre-holiday festival of community caring and sharing.  The Triangle Potters Guild provides handmade artisan pottery for sale in our Potters Village, local chefs compete for the Souperior Chef award with their favorite soup recipes, and guests enjoy delicious food and atmosphere while raising funds for the needy in our community.  Attendance in 2016 was 500 and is growing each year.  Marketing and media outreach is extensive.

At Urban Ministries of Wake County, more than 90 cents of every dollar you donate is applied directly to services that help our neighbors in need.
