For the past nine years, Raleigh’s backyard chicken coops have been growing in popularity. Why wouldn’t you want to have a chicken coop when the benefits are numerous?! Fans from far and wide come to see the Raleigh Tour D’Coop, and this year’s tour is expanding!

Mark your calendars for the 2013 Tour to be held on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is a suggested cash donation to Urban Ministries. Donations may be made in advance online at http://www.tourdcoop.com/tickets/. For online ticket purchases tour maps will be emailed the morning of May 18 at 7:00 am.

The Tour D’Coop is a one-day tour that allows guests a sneak peak to the backyards of Raleigh’s chicken coop enthusiasts. Come out to see the diverse coop designs and varieties of chickens, and enjoy a family fun day – all while supporting the vital work of Urban Ministries. Coop owners are on hand at each location to discuss the how-tos of chicken keeping. The wide variety of coop styles, as well as the surrounding backyard gardens, make the tour interesting and fun for the whole family.
