UM receives GSK IMPACT Award for healthcare

Area Nonprofits Honored with $40,000 Awards on Dec. 10.
Nine Nonprofits and Special Guests Gather for the GlaxoSmithKline 1st Annual IMPACT Awards
Durham – On Thursday, December 10, GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards Fund of Triangle Community Foundation will honor 9 area healthcare nonprofits for providing access to healthcare. Each North Carolina-based nonprofit serving the four county region of Chatham, Durham, Orange and Wake will receive a $40,000 award.
Nonprofit leaders, the people they help and healthcare luminaries gathered to share best practices at a time when the need for services is sharp. The event offered a unique opportunity to catch many subject matter experts in one place and present a complete picture of the human needs facing the nonprofit community during the holiday season and beyond.
The ceremony honored the following organizations:
• Alliance Medical Ministry, Inc.
• The Alliance of AIDS Services – Carolina
• Diabetes Management Solutions
• Family Violence & Rape Crisis Services, Inc.
• Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood
• National Society to Prevent Blindness-North Carolina Affiliate
• Threshold, Inc.
• Urban Ministries of Wake County, Inc.
• Wake Teen Medical Services Inc.
