Job Description

  • Prepare and serve hot meals nightly and breakfast and lunch on weekends for 36 shelter guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan meal
    • For breakfast and dinners
      • 36-40 guests
      • For lunches
        • 20-25 guests
      • Plan drink
  • Purchase food and drink for meal
  • Prepare hot meal and drink
    • Shelter has a small kitchen so please prepare meals ahead of time if possible
  • Check in at front desk
  • Serve hot meals
  • Make “late plates” for guests who will eat later
  • Interact with guests
  • Wrap up leftovers: can be left at shelter or taken with you
  • Complete volunteer contribution form

Skills Required

  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to fully plan, purchase, and prepare a meal for up to 40 guests
  • Ability to assist serving food
  • Ability to make “late plates”

Training Required

  • No training required

Days and Hours of Operation

  • Monday –  Friday
    • Dinner is served at 7:00pm
    • Breakfast is served at 7:00am on weekends
    • Lunch is served at noon on weekends
