We welcome gifts of all types and will work with you and your financial advisors to maximize the tax benefits for you and the value of your gift to the organization.
Cash
Your personal cash gift is deductible from your adjusted gross income. Gifts can be made in honor or in memory of friends and loved ones.
Matching Gifts
Often, your gift to Urban Ministries can be multiplied by matching funds from companies and foundations. Check with your company’s personnel office.
Gifts of Stocks and Bonds
For full tax benefit, you can send unsigned stock certificates by certified mail to the Development Office. The related stock power must be guaranteed by a bank officer or investment officer using the Medallion signature guarantee stamp and sent to us in a separate envelope. Or to have the stock transferred to our account, please contact Kathleen Donahue at 256-2166 to obtain our Wachovia Securities account number.

Gifts of appreciated property through a Charitable Remainder Trust can generate income for you with positive tax benefits.
Bequests
You can reduce inheritance taxes by designating in your will specific gifts of cash, property or a percentage of the remainder in your estate.
Lead Trusts
Property or assets can stay in the family while your gift reduces estate taxes and supports Urban Ministries.
Life Insurance
Designating Urban Ministries as a beneficiary of a paid-up policy or a new policy helps the organization’s endowment and provides you with a tax deduction.
Retained Life Estate
You retain occupancy of the property for life but give your primary home, vacation home, or farm to the ministry for its future income.
Real or Personal Property
You can deduct the full-fair market value of gifts of real estate or personal property (art, antiques, etc.).
